A Service of Thanksgiving for the Duke of Edinburgh was a personal tribute from the Queen to her husband after she insisted on being actively involved in elements of the event.

The Queen attended the service at Westminster Abbey on March 25th. which celebrated Prince Phillp's "dedication to family, Nation, and Commonwealth and recognise the importance of his legacy in creating opportunities for young people, promoting environmental stewardship and conservation, and supporting the Armed Forces".

The abbey is where the couple got married, where he pledged to be "her liege man of life and limb" at her coronation, and was due to be the original venue for his funeral which was instead held in Windsor due to COVID.

The palace said the Queen was "actively involved in the plans for this Service of Thanksgiving, with many elements reflecting Her Majesty's wishes".
